Phoenix Raceway formally known as ISM Raceway and Phoenix International Raceway, is a 1-mile low-banked tri-oval track located in Avondale, Arizona. Phoenix Raceway opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends per year. In November 2018, Phoenix Raceway unveiled the results of its $178 million modernization project that included a relocated start/finish line, technology upgrades, a completely redesigned INfield experience to bring the fans closer to the action and a completely revamped and relocated grandstand among other upgrades. The Phoenix Raceway grandstand seating capacity is around 42,000. In 2004 lights were installed following the addition of a 2nd annual NASCAR race weekend.
